On September 21st, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE inaugurated a new Smart Salem center in DIFC for medical fitness and visa processing. Powered by artificial intelligence and smart automation solutions, the center enables its customers to receive medical fitness results within just 30 minutes, and obtain a digital visa in 1.5 hours.
Covering a total area of 12,000 sq. ft, the facility has a capacity of serving 800 clients daily and there will be no need to queue up for medical tests. That being said, the center houses 7 blood collection rooms, 3 X-ray rooms, an onsite lab, 8 smart check-in kiosks, an Emirates ID biometrics office and an Amer support office. On top of that, the fitness center includes a robot barista, a hygiene robot and transportation robots.
Sheikh Mohammed personally toured the new Smart Salem center and was shown the services it provides. It is worth noting that the facility is equipped with the region’s first automated blood collection system and other innovative technologies. It is also 100% digital and paperless, which is in line with the Dubai Paperless Strategy.
Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), commented on the exciting opening:
The launch of the new Smart Salem center showcases Dubai’s drive to implement the latest technologies across all sectors to enhance the customer experience, reduce waiting time and raise service efficiency. The facility in DIFC will provide customers with high-quality services in a comfortable and exclusive setting. Located in the heart of Dubai, the state-of-the-art facility reflects the emirate’s commitment to provide exceptional, technology-driven services that can enhance people’s happiness.
The newly opened center is the second Smart Salem facility in the emirate, whereas the first one, inaugurated back in 2020, is located in City Walk. Both of the centers are open 6 days a week from Sunday to Friday. There is also a third center that will be launched soon in TECOM, and similar to Smart Salem in DIFC, it will offer a 30-minute screening facility.
