The Dubai Land Department (DLD), together with its subsidiary; Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), have introduced a new innovative service called Madmoun. The service is available through the Trakheesi System and allows users to check the authenticity of any real estate ad in Dubai via a QR code.
Starting April 24th 2023, all property companies are required to have a QR code on all print and audiovisual advertisements. By scanning the code, customers will be able to verify that the ad has been approved by RERA and access the website of the DLD to review the full ad information, including details of the advertising company, the condition of the unit and its key features. It can also be determined if the property has been sold or rented out.
According to Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of RERA at DLD, the initiative supports the DLD’s strategy to make Dubai ‘The World leader in Real Estate Investments’ and goes in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33′. The enhanced digital infrastructure will drive sustainability in the development of the property sector and will continue to keep buyers and investors satisfied.
To raise awareness within the property community, the DLD recommends all its clients to only deal with advertisements with a QR code. This will make their rights protected and decrease the risk of unreliable or fraudulent transactions.
