Taking advantage of Expo 2020’s iconic infrastructure, the Expo City Dubai area will enhance the real estate market prospects in South Dubai and provide unique business opportunities, from startups to large companies.
Expo City Dubai is scheduled to officially open on October 1, but the Mobility and Sustainability pavilions will be ready to welcome visitors from September 1.
Like Expo 2020 Dubai, the site will be accessible through Dubai Metro. The entrance to Expo City Dubai will be free of charge, unlike the Expo 2020 Dubai. However, visitors will need to pay for individual attractions, which means a ticket to the pavilion will cost AED 50 (USD 14), while the price of a ticket to a sight called Garden in the Sky is AED 30 (USD 8). An Attraction Pass, which will allow guests to visit several attractions at a fixed price, will be presented to the public.
As Expo City Dubai corresponds to a more green initiative, cars will be prohibited in the area. Visitors will be offered bicycles, scooters and buggies. Single-use plastic won’t be allowed within the premises, whilst all the developments will follow the international standards to reduce water and energy consumption.
Expo City Dubai, in the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, will become a futuristic destination for innovation and business. Several companies, including DP World and Siemens, have already mentioned their desire to open their own in the area.
In the following months, details of other pavilions including remastered pavilions of Australia, Pakistan, India, Luxembourg, Egypt and Morocco will be announced. The falcon-inspired UAE pavilion, the award-winning Saudi Arabian pavilion, Al Wasl, Alif and Terra will also continue attracting visitors. The Opportunity Pavilion will become the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, where one will be able to learn more about this event which took place from October 2021 to March 2022.
Moreover, the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) will be located in Expo City Dubai, where various summits, concerts and conferences will take place. In the Women’s Pavilion visitors can learn more about female change-makers, while the Vision Pavilion shows the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is based on his book ‘My Story: 50 Memories from 50 years of Service’.
Expo City Dubai has been chosen for hosting the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) in November 2023. Over 45,000 visitors per day are expected to take part in this event.
80% of buildings made for Expo 2020 Dubai will remain and continue attracting tourists. Moreover, offices, dining options, entertainment & sports facilities and a mall will be located here. A 1km crystal lagoon, 3km waterfront promenade, as well as 3–5 bedroom townhouses and 5–7 bedroom villas will appear in Expo City Dubai in the near future.
According to the ‘Expat Insider 2022’ report, the UAE was recognized as the best place for expats to reside in, and there is no doubt that Expo City Dubai will become the perfect option for those looking for high-quality properties at competitive prices.
