The way Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi is celebrated varies among different cultures and regions. Generally, there are special prayers and religious assemblies in community centres or mosques. During these gatherings, the participants recite Quranic verses and narrate stories from the prophet’s life. Also on Eid-e-Milad an-Nabi, Muslims like to help the less fortunate by donating food, clothing or money.

According to the UAE government, the country will have a public holiday on the 29th of September in honour of the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday (PBUH). Federal Government employees will have Friday off, making it a 3-day weekend.

There are 2 more public holidays left this year: Commemoration Day and National Day. They fall on the first and second of December, respectively.
